At Sea

Well, today was a pretty normal sea day. The day started early for breakfast and then off to the lounge for Barbara’s last port lecture for this cruise. This lecture was on the final port, Amsterdam. We have one stop in Narvik tomorrow, and then we steam on for two days to Amsterdam. So that means that we are 29 days and 8585.6 nautical miles out of Ft. Lauderdale. We are sailing south today, at lunch we were at 69˚ 2.04’N 13˚ 30.55’E. We are still above the arctic circle for a bit so there is still no night.

One of the nice things about the day was the fact that we didn’t have a rehearsal. Tonight’s performer is a comedian, a stand up, and all he needs is the lights on and a microphone. So I had some time off to relax and also catch up on some the the theatre paperwork that I will have to turn in before the end of this cruise.

We had the second to last lecture with Dr. Mendelsohn today. This one I really didn’t pay attention to. In fact I don’t really remember what I was doing during it. I would have looked at the view today, but the overcast skies, rain, and fog made that particularly difficult. There was about 20 minutes during dinner when the sun poked out and we could see some of the cliffs in the distance.

After dinner we had the second edition of the Liar’s Club gameshow which was pretty funny, and then showtime. I don’t think that I listened to the comedian at all. I mean he just talked for 45 minutes. I suppose some things he said were funny, but it was just eh. After the shows I did my laundry and headed off to bed, how terribly exciting.
