At Sea

Today was really long and boring. Starting at 9:15 I had three lectures in the lounge. So I got up a little after 8 and went up for breakfast before heading down for the first lecture. The frst lecture was a port talk on a couple of the ports in Norway. I do know that they are having a cew tour in one of the Norway ports, I have to remember to get a ticket for that.

I had a short time off during morning bingo before the second lecture at 11:15. that lecture was with professor Beres. After that lecture I had time to go up and get some lunch and spend a little time up on deck in the sun. It was a little windy, but it was a beautiful day. After lunch we had rehearsal with the evening’s performer Andrew Skirmishire. Andrew is a cellist and he played a lot of great music, from West Side Story to Nessun Dourma.

The last lecture of the day was on Melville and Moby Dick, a book that I have not read. After that lecture I finally had a decent amount of time off to relax a little before dinner and the shows. Tonight was a formal night, so I got dressed up before going up for dinner. After dinner we had our two shows as usual. After the second show I went down to the Ocean Bar to listen to the quartet play, and watch the cruise staff do some crazy line dances. I can’t pick up those dances to fast, but it was pretty impressive how coordinated they were. After that was over I went home and it was time for bed, it was a long day.
